ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, my name is Betsy Poteau and I'm a 2D Animation Generalist. I mostly specialize in 2D character animation for traditional, rigging animation, and effects work. My goal is to bring characters and environments to life with compelling movement and performance I'm of Haitian descent and the first of my family to go to Art School after Community College and plan to do more after I graduate. I've always had a love for animation ever since I was a little girl and was fascinated by how an animated drawing could convey so much emotion. Through my own work, I want to convey that sense of whimsy that I had as a kid and make compelling stories with characters others can relate to, like I did so long ago.

I'm currently seeking internship opportunities and mentorship to grow my perspective and learn through a hands-on experience on my artistic journey. When I'm not working on a project, I'm usually out exploring and reading works from artists and authors I admire.
